The Movimento Brasil Livre (MBL) has taken another significant step in its political trajectory: the group announced this Thursday (26) that it has reached the minimum number of signatures validated by the Electoral Court to officially register its own party, which should be called Missão. The new party will be able to compete in the 2026 general elections, if the formalization is completed in time.
According to the most recent data from the Support System for Parties in Formation (SAPF), of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), the movement managed to surpass the required number of 547,042 supporters. In total, there are already 547,110 validated signatures, enough to continue the process of creating the new party.
🎥 Validation was celebrated live
During a live broadcast on social media, MBL members celebrated the achievement in real time. The general secretary of the future party, Victor Couto, read the official certificate issued by the Electoral Court, stating that the group is ready to file a request for definitive registration with the TSE.
"It is with this document that we can go to the Superior Electoral Court and formalize the existence of the Missão party," he emphasized.
Now, with the support stage completed, the movement must present the party statutes to the Court, in addition to formally establishing the national leadership body, requirements provided for by Brazilian legislation for the creation of new political parties.

📌 Brazil's 30th party
If approved, Missão will be the 30th officially registered political party in the country. The last party to obtain registration was Unidade Popular (UP), in 2023.
Organizers expect the legalization process to be completed by mid-2026, which is enough time to allow Missão to participate in the next elections with its own candidates for the Legislative and Executive branches. According to the group, the party intends to hold internal primaries to choose a possible candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.
🎯 Reunify MBL into a single party
One of the main objectives of creating Missão is to bring together all the members of MBL, who are currently spread across several groups, into a single party. The new structure will allow the group to act more cohesively on the national political scene and, according to the organizers, will mark a new stage for the movement created during the 2013 protests and which gained notoriety in the following years.
Although it does not yet have access to large party resources, such as the electoral fund, the party plans to seek candidates with high media impact, based on its history of strong digital presence.
🗳️ Number and electoral plan
The new party should use the number 14 on the ballot, if the registration is approved by the TSE. The party is also working to form state directories throughout the country, with the aim of expanding its base of action in the next election.
DFATOS will continue to monitor all developments regarding the creation of the Missão party and its possible participation in the 2026 elections.
